Requirements to Becoming a Foster Parent

  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Must have an extra bedroom for child
  • Must complete a background check
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • New Jersey Driver's License or New Jersey State ID

*Background checks are an important part of becoming a foster parent and will only be completed after your application has been submitted. Background checks includes Child Protective Services.
